The changes in detail:

- New hires graphics for iPhone 4
- Fixed an issue when jumping to another book (iOS4)
- Swipe gestures are now supported for all document types (iOS4)
- Improved import from other apps ("Open in…") (iOS4)
- Alternative move & jump dialog to better support huge numbers of books (can be enabled in settings)
- Improved auto detection of text encoding for imported notes
- Improved zoom and scroll for photos
- Improved sensitivity of pencil icon
- Improved handling of sync conflicts and new suggestions for solving them
- Fixed a rare issue after deleting a note

- Numerous interface improvements especially for column view
- Info view shows pixel dimensions for photos
- Fixed a rare issue after deleting a note
- Improved auto detection of text encoding for imported notes
- Improved zoom and scroll for photos
- Improved sensitivity of pencil icon
- Improved handling of sync conflicts and new suggestions for their solution

This hopefully is the last bug-fix release before version 1.1

Notebooks for iPhone 3.2.2 released

We are glad to announce that Notebooks for iPhone is back on the App Store. The update has just been approved by Apple and should appear in iTunes or on your iPhones and iPods within the next couple of hours.

We want to thank you all for your patience and understanding regarding the issue with version 3.2.1, and we are very sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused.
 Also, special thanks to our beta testers who have helped us track down and fix this issue.

Notebooks for iPad 1.0.2

The latest update of Notebooks for iPad has been released yesterday. Here is the list of improvements:

- Full support for external keyboards

- WiFi Sharing now reliably works for Windows, too
 - Improved transfer of large documents from Mac OS Finder (WiFi Sharing) 
- Single line Preview can now be turned on/off. By default, previews are off, you activate them in a book's info view. "Auto" setting uses setting from the parent book.

- Improved import from Safari with bookmarklet (nytimes.com etc.)

- "New from Pasteboard" now accepts URLs and imports web pages (as an alternative to the bookmarklet) or saves a bookmark. This can be used as an alternative to the bookmarklet, especially for pages and documents that take a while to download.

- WebDAV sync got several enhancements due to user reports regarding unreliable Move&Delete. If you still experience inconsistencies, please let us know, as this seems to affect specific setups only.

- Numerous improvements and interface enhancements especially for column view.

Notebooks for iPhone 3.2 & 3.2.1

As many of you have seen, Notebooks for iPhone 3.2.1 was released yesterday. Within minutes, we received a series of reports from users who were unable to read their notes, as they were displayed black on black.

It seems that this affects specific devices/setups only, there is no obvious reason or bug, and we have been unable to reproduce this effect on any of our devices so far. This is one of the worst situation you could have...

We made the decision to redraw the current version of Notebooks for iPhone from the App Store and avoid any more damage. Unfortunately, the App Store does not allow to swap the current version with the previous one, so at the moment Notebooks for iPhone is unavailable.

We are working hard to find a solution, and your feedback is very much appreciated. What would be especially interesting is:

- Which device/model do you have?
- Which OS version is installed?
- Does this issue affect text notes only or other types, too?
- Do you use a custom background or text color? If you change them, does that make any difference?
- Can you think of any other app on your iPhone/iPod that might interfere with Notebooks (TextExpander, ...)

We regret this inconvenience and hope we are able to post a new update soon.

Notebooks 3.2 and iOS4

Notebooks 3.2.1, which will be fully iOS4 compatible, is currently in review at Apple, but for obvious reasons (iOS4)reviews currently take longer than usual.

Notebooks for iPhone 3.2 is not fully iOS4 compatible, so you might experience a few issues after updating to iOS4:

- WiFi sharing cannot be activated
- When you tap on the search bar, the keyboard does not show up
- Text and background lines do not align
- import form Safari sometimes terminates Notebooks
- external keyboards are not supported

The iTunes App Store will inform you automatically when 3.2.1 has been released, but you will read about it here as well.
