Import Your Notes from the iPhone/iPad Notes App

The iPhone, iPad and iPod touch do not allow to directly import notes that you have already created in the native Notes application. With a few steps, however, you can quickly and easily transfer them into Notebooks:

  1. -Back up your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch through iTunes

  2. -Download any of the backup extractors:

                http://supercrazyawesome.com/ or

                http://www.iphonebackupextractor.com/

                http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm

  1. -Launch the extractor and click Read Backups

  2. -Choose the latest backup

  3. -From the presented list, choose iPhone OS Files and click Extract

  4. -Select a location to store the extracted files

In the chosen location you will now find a folder “iPhone OS FIles”. In this folder, go to Library -> Notes and import the file notes.db (on iPhone4 it is called notes.sqlite) into Notebooks with any of the available import/sync options.

Notebooks shows the document notes.db with a generic icon. When you tap on its name, Notebooks will extract the notes into a new book called iPhone Notes. The notes.db file will be deleted.
